In the last few decades, regional anesthesia has seensome significant advancements. Because of the related improvements in efficacy, ease of performance, and safety, ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blockingprocedures have become the gold standard. This has expanded regional Anesthesia's accessibility and use in the Anesthesiacommunity as a whole, which is important given the accumulating evidence forits potential benefits on a variety of patient-centered outcomes, such assignificant morbidity, cancer recurrence, and persistent postoperative pain.Ultrasound guidance has also allowed for the improvement of existing blocks'technical performance in terms of simplicity and safety, as well as theinvention of new regional anesthetic procedures.
